Sexual Violence happens more than you think…

Sexual violence happens more than just on dates & is never asked for by anyone. The truth is, most sexual offenders are people that the victim knows. Majority of the time, the violence is committed in the victims home, or near the victims home. It can happen at anytime, to anyone. Don’t let your biases get in the way of paying attention to your surroundings.

What was the survivor doing when the crime occurred?

  • 48% were sleeping, or performing another activity at home

  • 29% were traveling to and from work or school, or traveling to shop or run errands

  • 12% were working

  • 7% were attending school

  • 5% were doing an unknown or other activity

SART—Sexual Assault Response Team

The purpose of the Warren County SANE/SART Program is to facilitate a community-based collaborative response to all victims of sexual assault by providing immediate and follow up medical, advocacy, and criminal and civil justice services in an ethical and compassionate manner.

Our mission is to counter the experience of sexual assault with a sensitive and competent multidisciplinary response; to support efforts to restore the victim’s well being; and to bring responsible persons to justice. On our SART Team, we have a wide variety of professionals who are passionate about victim’s healing & bringing offenders to justice.

On that team, we have a well trained SANE, sexual assault nurse examiner from River Park Hospital. We have professionals from the 31st Judicial District Attorneys Office, McMinnville Police Department, Warren County Sheriffs Department, 911, Judicial Commissioner’s Office, and Families in Crisis.

Written by and for trans and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, Written on the Body offers support, guidance and hope for those who struggle to find safety at home, in the body, and other unwelcoming places. This collection of letters written to body parts weaves together narratives of gender, identity, and abuse. It is the coming together of those who have been fragmented and often met with disbelief. The book holds the concerns and truths that many trans people share while offering space for dialogue and reclamation.

The Body Keeps the Score

This book, written by a Doctor, opens the door to a more personal look at trauma and it’s effects on people. It walks the reader how the brain reacts to an assault, how your brain is going to rationalize it, and how your brain will shut down certain parts of thinking due to the trauma of the incident. The second half of the book focuses on mental health and how medicine has revolutionized mental health disorders.
